The music man
From his childhood, music was an integral part of Manny's life. He studied piano as a youth, mastered all ranges of saxophones, the clarinet and flute and loved to sing. He was a member of the Musicians' Union and performed throughout Texas and Louisiana with the Bob Smith Orchestra.
This bespectacled scientist found himself performing with Bob Hope, Vic Damone, The Platters, The Temptations and The Letterman -- but hands-down his biggest thrill was accompanying legendary songstress Ella Fitzgerald.
We have digitized his recording with Dick Barlow, Live at the Warwick in Houston. Click Here to listen to songs from that album.
